A spirit more substantial than life has left us.

Graeme Stevenson was a extraordinary person. He experienced great inventive energies and the dedication to place his suggestions about artwork and the environment into motion. We achieved him when he arrived at our studios one particular August day with his assistant, Sophia Stacey, together with baggage of filming and lighting machines. We were being instantly amazed with his kindness and honest desire in our operate and our lives as artists. Both Graeme and Sophia exuded real enthusiasm and friendliness.

We immediately hit it off. Kindred spirits. They made the job interview and filming procedure pleasurable and entire of laughter. This was a entirely unique type of job interview experience. Exclusive. Much more like hanging out with one’s shut pals. Ahead of we understood it, they had been completed, packed up and completely ready to go. They were being worn out from traveling from Australia and throughout America, interviewing artists along the way. It has not frequently transpired in our life that we have satisfied an individual like Graeme. Prompt belief. He was that kind of individual. And, he was an completed and very well-regarded easel painter on major of it all!

We asked him why he was burning up so considerably strength and likely portray time to film and produce his Color in Your Life Tv series. He explained that he was served alongside in his job by an individual early on, and when he requested that man or woman how he could at any time repay him, he was instructed to “just assist other artists like yourself”. So he commenced to shell out it ahead and we and hundreds of other artists who bought to participate in the plan and to know him a little, are the beneficiaries of that generosity of spirit. The environment desires additional people today like Graeme Stevenson. He is missed.

We interviewed Graeme about his personal artwork two months back. You can see that interview and some of his paintings listed here.

As it claims on the Colour in Your Lifetime site, Graeme’s vision was “to build a library of the minds of artists, preserving a digital document of imaginative spirit, lifestyle, and procedures for foreseeable future generations.”
