Sitarist David Pontbriand will be joined by mridanga player Gaura Harrison in a duo referred to as RagaFission at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at the Oasis of Audio, in the downstairs chapel of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, positioned at 11 Ash St. in Lewiston.

Pontbriand started his journey with the sitar in 1973. His tale is an exception to the rule, in that he is self-taught. His Tunes of Sitar is driven by an intuitive and emotive approach that is deeply private, and yet shows aspects of classical form and design and style.
