China hosts online dance forum amid the novel coronavirus pandemic

A new discussion board concentrated on the artwork of dance’s place amid the COVID-19 pandemic kicked off at the Beijing Dance Academy (BDA) on Sunday with a selection of global visitors using part through online indicates. 

The 3-day-long BDA Dance Forum is concentrating on subject areas associated to the dance field, just one of the industries hardest hit by the novel coronavirus. 

Speakers from New York College, the Institute for Dance Arts in Austria, BDA and China’s Southwest University shared their sights on “how dancers express their connection with the planet through human body actions all through the international pandemic.” 

Feng Shuangbai, chairman of the China Dancers Association, explained through the opening ceremony on Sunday that as a communication and trade system, the BDA Dance Forum carries China’s voice on how to inspire the entire world via dance. 

Susan Leigh Foster, professor at College of California Los Angeles, stated that “dancing teaches us several items – an awareness of the place about us, an attentiveness to motion and to the attributes of motion, an means to recognize how bodies are arranged in place and time… a deep love of and respect for the overall body. All these points can enable us in our efforts to wander as a result of the pandemic portal into a greater environment.”
