MACTE Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Termoli presents “LE 3 ECOLOGIE”, a reflection on ecology expressed via the functions of 11 artists from unique backgrounds and the very first exhibition curated by the Director Caterina Riva.
In the spaces of the museum, the installations, films, drawings and images of Matilde Cassani, Piero Gilardi, Karrabing Film Collective, Len Lye, Jumana Manna, Jonatah Manno, Silvia Mariotti, Francis Offman, Francesco Simeti, Nicola Toffolini and Micha Zweifel deliver the community closer to distant locations, presenting visions that belong to previous, present and potential struggles for survival. With their is effective, the invited artists attract eccentric maps from the Mediterranean to the Pacific and the Arctic, outlining hybrid environmental contexts that promote our notion.
From New Zealand, Len Lye’s Tusalava, an animation created in 1929, which traces the beginnings of lifetime from mobile to complicated organisms as if in a dance.
