LeCrue Eyebrows First Solo Exhibition at Van Der Plas Gallery

When I very first came on LeCrue Eyebrows‘ artworks on the streets of my city, I was struck at the moment by its singular authenticity. Each piece intrigues, as it exudes a distinct aura of mystery. Visual meditations on such universal themes as like, decline and longing, the is effective are subtly strong and strikingly beautiful.

Not to be skipped is the Queens-based artist’s initially solo exhibition at Van Der Plas Gallery. At as soon as quietly uncooked and soulfully classy, every single function tells a story – to be freely interpreted by its viewer.  And each and every piece was designed freely and spontaneously, as almost nothing that Lecrue makes is premeditated. The act of painting, by itself, is to the artist “an extreme type of meditation.”

The beguiling graphic pictured previously mentioned, “Move with Me,” was fashioned this 12 months with acrylic on canvas. A number of additional images I captured when viewing “Primitive Form” final weekend observe:

“Own Storm,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

“Stand With Me,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

“Her Breath in Time,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

“Just Past the Window,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022

And on a considerably different note — “Together,” Combined media on cold press paper, 2022

“Primitive Form” proceeds at Van Der Plas Gallery by Oct 23. Positioned at  156 Orchard Road, the gallery is open up Mon-Tue: 12pm-5pm, Wed-Sat: 11pm-6pm and Sunday: 11am-5pm.
